/- Your views in paragraph (2) of R1/M.6.1.31. are confirmed by our present knowledge, that is, Houdaille, were not following your early design.

/- We are unable at the moment to say whether the Delco Lovejoy Combine are taking out a patent in this country, but we are investigating the matter.

/- With regard to your item 6 (B), re controlling the damping from the driver's seat, we have already got a patent which covers this e.g. 293530, and this seems sound and capable of being enforced.

/- E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} have each got copies of our patents referred to, and can verify the position.

/- In regard to the points enumerated as possible issues to cover, these are receiving our immediate attention.

I think the foregoing will give a clear conception of the present position of the hydraulic shock damper patents we hold, and their value relative to other patents.
