Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.

to these particular pistons in the opening paragraph of your letter of the 1st. If so, they should be to hand very shortly.

We are anxious to determine this matter definitely because we are now in receipt of instructions from your Buying Department to prepare for an order for a thousand pistons, and we must now of course, put down a metal corebox so that variations of dimension are rendered impossible. We will fix the size of this corebox to give a finished weight of 17 oz., but it would be a very great help to us in arriving at the dimensions if we could have for a short time one of the old pistons to guide us.

We take it that the 17 1/2 oz. pistons will be useable since they are all within a close margin of each other. In this connection also, would you kindly confirm that for the production pistons, the weight limit of 17 oz. plus .00 minus .20 would be satisfactory.

Yours faithfully,
pp THE LIGHT PRODUCTION CO. LTD.

GENERAL MANAGER.
