WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} From Ha/Rn.{Mr Robinson} X5230 Ha/Rn.{Mr Robinson}9/W.7.5.30. With reference to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}7/TS.5.30. We have received several criticisms of the 20 HP. riding recently both about the riding of the last 10,000 miles 20 HP. car 14-G4, and from customers. We should very much like to try and improve the springing of your car if you could spare it. We will prepare some springs with lubrication grooves in them, as these have now been standardised and it should not take us very long to fit them. We could then try various shock absorber adjustments. We should like to do this on your car because it is a normal type of four seater, whereas 12-G4 and 16-G4 are really two seaters. With regard to spitting in the exhaust, as long as we give our customers good petrol consumption we are afraid that this trouble will exist in some form or other. The simplest way to cure it is to give the engine an over-rich mixture. This is what the Americans do. The Chrysler we have gives 12 miles/gallon, whereas we get 16 miles/gallon on our 25 HP. The very fact that we had spitting in the silencer of the Silver Ghost, Phantom 1, and Phantom 11, also the 25 HP., shews that it is not an easy thing to cure, since all these cars have absolutely different induction systems. We do know that if the radiator temperature is kept up the fault is greatly reduced, and for this reason | ||
