Elong'n. 18% R.{Sir Henry Royce} in A.{Mr Adams} 50% Izod 45 - 50 ft/lbs. Note. Further to the above, valves on order for future development are: From Doncasters. EB.5210. Exhaust valves in XLO mat'l. 100 off. EB.3853 Inlets " " 3 1/2% Nickel (569) 50 off. EB.3853 " " " S.65 - 50 off. The above 200 forgings were despatched to Motor Components for machining in April (1940). It is worth recording, that, from time to time we have varied the shape of the valve head, and we know that a generous tulip shaped inlet valve is worth approx. 5% top power over a normal flat headed valve. INDUCTION PIPE. B.60. Stromberg: RE.147: 1.125 SQ. section. 2 S.U's. As B.V.- 1.60 dia. bore. B.80. Stromberg: RE.992 - 1.350 SQ. section. 3 S.U's. New detail drawings required (see report by Caisley). CARBURETTOR. S.U. As production B.V. Stromberg. (a) Specification: see Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/TAS.{T. Allan Swinden}1/J.Mc.2.6.40. We managed to accumulate a small stock of both the above types of carburettor. - Sufficient to cater for the rationalised range of engines instructed to the shop. | ||
