To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c.c. W. c.c. Ry. ORIGINAL EFC1/17.2.23. RE SEAGULL DYNAMO. Y4010 With reference to your R2/M29.1.23, if the Seagull dynamo is to be designed as a pure shunt machine, and an external vibrator regulator be designed to operate with it, we should anticipate no trouble due to the reduction of carcase dia. from 5¾" to 5½". If, however, the machine is to remain third brush controlled, we are of the opinion that we should have very little margin of output for the minimum specified performance to make up for irregularities.
