Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

Interchangeability.

In reply to your letter of the 8th. inst., and confirming the visit of our Mr. Preston yesterday, we are proceeding without delay with the production of a sample battery for the 40/50 chassis having external dimensions and similar in design to the Chloride Co's 3XC15 type. The plates in this battery, however, will not be of the normal thin type, but will have a thickness equivalent to that of the plates in the present 3-RRN11 battery, so that the life will be the same. The battery will also be fitted with burnt-on connections and standard S.M.M.T. taper posts.

We understand that Mr. West wishes to come down to these Works to supervise the test on this battery, and we estimate that we can have it ready in about a fortnight's time. If it is then satisfactory we can prepare full working drawings for you.

We are going very carefully into the matter now, and will write you again in two or three days to suggest a suitable date for Mr. West's visit.

Yours faithfully,

PETO & RADFORD.
C G Pritchett
