MR. PRESTON'S VISIT TO R.R. ON THE 14TH INST.

Mr. Preston suggested that Peto & Radford could provide us with a similar battery to the Exide 3XC15 having the universal features desired. The thickness of the plates would be as follows :-

Positive .156" as compared with the std. .15
Negative .125" " " " " " .135
The outside negatives would be .109" thick.

The battery would consist of 11 plates and the approximate plate area would be 27.4 sq.in. as compared with the present standard area of 28.4 sq.in. The std. SMMT. clamped terminals would be used. No load would be provided and the same container as used by the Chloride Co. would be used for this battery.
