Thank you for your various notes.

28-EX. crosses on Sunday. I am sorry to say that we have not got the correct exhaust system and mounting on this car. It will follow out immediately after the holidays. The system that is on the car now is the one that you fitted before you left Derby.

We think that part of every 10,000 mile test should be to take the car to Monthlery and get a lap speed. In the case of 27-EX. this is particularly important because we are reverting to the old camshaft and we want to make sure that we do not lose much on performance. Unfortunately there is no cut-out on this car but to get a figure for cut-out upon you could remove the rear silencer.

We should like you to get a figure for the Bentley before it leaves France and also for 21-GLV car with and without silent tappets. If you run it with silent tappets and the Bentley valve springs you should be able to get the same speed as with the Standard rockers.

I shall be away for the next fortnight but would like to keep in touch with what is happening, I should therefore be glad if you would send me a copy of your reports to -

'Cooper Grange', Cooper Angus, Perth.

- in addition to sending these reports to the Works.
