MARTINDALE FRONT CROSS MEMBER ASSEMBLY We are handing to the Experimental Department for "bump" test a Front Cross Member Assembly (FW.1088) which incorporates spot welding in place of riveting on Top and Bottom Pieces (FW.1076/7) and Stiffeners (FW.1081). By elimination of drilling and riveting as at present a saving of 4 hours time allowance per chassis is provided. BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has examined an assembly spot welded in this manner and agrees that a "bump" test be carried out before considering standardisation. File RHC {R. H.
