THE MIDLAND MOTOR CYLINDER Co., LTD. CONTINUED, SHEET No.......2 Messrs.Rolls-Royce Limited, Derby. 7th December 1937 Actually, scrap percentage on camshafts is exceedingly low, and you need have no apprehension with regard to this. We sincerely hope that, when viewing these camshaft prices, you do not merely compare them with stamping price, as they are almost invariably higher in that stage, but it is in the subsequent elimination of heat-treating, rough machining, straightening, etc., that the cost is levelled up and the finished "Monikrom" Camshaft is usually cheaper than the Camshaft made from either a forging or solid steel bar. In addition to this, we claim its wear resistance is greater. On receipt of your further blue print we shall be pleased to quote you as requested. Yours faithfully, THE MIDLAND MOTOR CYLINDER CO.LIMITED. [Illegible signature] DIRECTOR. | ||
