To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} (Suggested Experiments). [Handwritten] 1249 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}8/MH.{M. Huckerby}17.2.38. WRAITH III. PETROL CONSUMPTION. The carburetter fitted to this chassis has a setting which is suitable for present production 25/30, and has not been corrected for use on Wraith engine. Tests to be carried out. (1) Max. speed and usual performance figures with present carburetter setting. (2) Consumption figures by "Zenith tester" for 20 - 30 - 40 - 50 M.P.H. constant speeds on a level road. (3) Obtain correct setting for carburetter by fitting weaker jets, so that performance figures are maintained. (4) Fit suction ignition control and repeat (2) with and without this in operation. (5) Fit latest experimental induction pipe and repeat (1), (2), (3) and (4). Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} | ||
