385 3/3 / 388 D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 18th October 1938 Dear Withers, This morning I adjourned to Earls Court at an early hour and regret that I did not have the pleasure and honour of seeing you but as I left at about a quarter past twelve I agree it was too early to see your lordship. However, I had the pleasure of seeing Commander Henderson, also Webb of F.{Mr Friese} & W. Simmonds was also with the latter. I referred to the question of Pillars, and Webb replied that this was all arranged when he first went down and was in his original notes, and he had talked to Almond the night before (I gather having heard from you on the telephone, and he told Simmonds all about the hinge etc., etc., I also spoke to him about the hook on the hoods at the top of the front windscreen. Simmonds told me that they had received from R.R. the blue print of the dashboard and expressed great surprise that I had not received a copy of it from F.{Mr Friese} & W. and promised to send one at once. Webb then said he had no good fabrics ready but was having one made up by the Manufacturers and that he would let me have it as soon as it came in. Also he gave instructions to Simmonds who was standing by his side that this was to be sent to me at once in addition to which I was to have the colour of the leather upholstery, and the panel of the paint colour.
