COPY. X7535P PETO & RADFORD, 50, GROSVENOR GARDENS, LONDON. S.W.1. Our Ref: M/S. 2nd September 1927. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of yours of the 30th ult., BY/CCH/12/G, about the dimensions of the battery we made for you and we have discussed this with our Works who say they regret they inconvenienced you but that they must have a certain amount of tolerance in making these wood boxes as it is very difficult to work to 1/16" on them. However, we do not altogether agree with this, and we think that they ought to have advised you that the batteries would not be quite to your dimensions and got your confirmation of the fact before making them, and we are sorry about this and must ask you to accept our apologies. Yours faithfully, (Sgd) G.R.N. Minchin. | ||
