Dear Sirs,

Boyce Electric Clock.

We have had a failure of one of these clocks No.662 on one of our test cars.

Upon examination we found that the failure was due to the contact toggle pivot working loose causing the contacts to heel over, and in come instances not to operate at all. It appears to us that the action of this clock has been too violent. We also noticed that the contacts are worn very badly. Will you please have this clock examined and repaired and returned to us as soon as possible.

This clock is wound with a cross winding in order to operate satisfactorily on low voltages, but we would like you, in this instance, to rewind the coil with your standard winding.

Another point we have noticed about these clocks that is the fact that when the small low voltage protective device operates it is very difficult to replace this or even get it working again and we are afraid that unless this little circuit breaker is made more accessible customers will be complaining. We wonder if it is possible for this small circuit breaker to be more easily replaced. Perhaps you will kindly look into this for us.

We should be pleased to have your comments on the fault of this clock as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED
