Messrs. Hardy Spicer & Co.Ltd.,
Birch Road,
Witton,
Birmingham 6.

For the attention of Mr. Daniell.

Dear Sirs,

You will remember making up for us some time ago a propellor shaft to suit our Bentley chassis.

This shaft has successfully completed about 12,000 miles in France. We have another car going to France shortly and should like to use this same shaft so that the needle joints will have done a greater total mileage. On the other hand, you wrote to us that it would be possible to lighten this shaft. We should therefore like to return it to you so that you can remove the maximum weight advisable, for further testing in France.

Will you please let us know whether you are agreeable to this, and how much weight you think you can remove.

We expect you would like this opportunity of examining the shaft, but we do not wish any new working parts fitting.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
