DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for yours of the 7th instant.

We should certainly like to see the Shaft that has done 12,000 miles in France, but we should not expect to find anything requiring attention on such a mileage.

Apart from this, we gather the special yokes are still to be used, so we shall not be able to fit our own lighter type. We can re-machine the solid ended Shaft, and the fixed joint at the tube spigot, and save approximately 3 1/2 lbs and this we should offer to do now as soon as the shaft is received by us. We therefore, look forward to it.

Will you please let us know the approximate date you require its return.

Yours faithfully,
p.p. Hardy Spicer & Co.,Ltd.,
J.A. Daniell
Director.
