X4308 Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY. {Sir Henry Royce} ROY {Sir Henry Royce} 6/MG19.2.23 ------------------ Following our conversation this day, I would confirm that the A.T.Speedometer Company state they have supplied Dials on the 40/50 HP. instruments of the old type, as this is the type they have supplied to Conduit Street for some time and there have been no complaints. I have told them to put in hand some of the larger type Dials for the 40/50 instruments, exactly similar to those used on the 20 HP., i.e. with raised silvered figures on eggshell matt. ground. I presume this is a case where we are covered by Standardisation Sheet, i.e., we have standardised the raised silvered figures on eggshell matt. ground for the 20 HP. instruments, and this will apply equally to the 40/50 HP. They will be sending the 40/50 HP. instrument you want to test out the Reduction Gear to-day, with the old type Dial, and I have told them to send a new type Dial for exchange as soon as possible. The Stores have instructions to pass this to you on receipt. Please let us have the old type dial in due course. ROY. {Sir Henry Royce} | ||
