c. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Thr X.2515 EFC2/T. 13th July, 1921. The Lucas Electrical Co.Ltd., Well Street, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, X. 2515 X. 3749 Re Fuse Wire for R.R.Type Fuse Holders and Clips in Lucas Switchbox. We are enclosing a sample of tinned copper wire No.40 S.W.G. which is said to be some of the wire originally supplied by you for the field wire in the Lucas switchbox. Owing, however, to the slightly increased centres of the field fuse, it may be desirable to use a wire one gauge larger, say 39 S.W.G.. As you have the switchbox with you at present, it occurred to us you would perhaps try this matter out and recommend the size of wire to be employed. On return of the switchbox with the sample of wire recommended we would ourselves try this matter out and agree to your recommendation. We think before finally fixing the size of wire we should both be in agreement with one another as to the size to be employed. As you will appreciate, the difficulty in fixing this wire is to get one of a size which will never fail Contd. R.R. 238A (100 T) (S.H. 798, 10-12-20) G 2347 | ||
