-2- through a large clearance hole instead of a slot drilled hole, the governor sleeve being prevented from turning by fitting the square of the shaft. The idea of this is to save the slot drilling. We also send N. sch. 3470 shewing an alternative method of retaining the oil in both the damper casing and the gearbox by means of R.{Sir Henry Royce} and L.H. threads. The object of this is to avoid the possibility of the loss of damper oil through the single thread shewn on N. sch. 3468, due to dripping from the casing, the single thread being arranged to prevent oil from the gearbox entering the damper reservoir. It will be noticed that we have found it necessary to move the handbrake somewhat, and to alter the bolting to the speedometer drive case. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
