GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} xinga To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}E. BY.EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} 12,000 Miles Report on Cadillac Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}5/E8.3.35 Referring to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}19/KW.5.3.35 I have read this through but can find practically no reference to adjustable tappets. The only reference I can find is on Page 2 where it says that they had a period of misfiring due to the sticking of the eccentric bushes of the silent tappets holding the valves full open. Is this really all there is to say, as I understood from Roberts that they had had a great deal of trouble with these adjustable tappets and I was particularly interested because I understood that the Cadillac type was the type that we were proposing to adopt, but I may be wrong.
