D.W.S. JACKS - PHANTOM II.

Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}19/KW.30.11.33.

We are sorry that the new type jack handle would not fit the jacks on 2-PY. We have used this successfully on a set of jacks which we have here on an experimental car.

We think the trouble is that there is a slight radius in the corners of the square holes in the handle. The remedy is either to file these out square or file a small radius on the corners of the male square on the jacks themselves. The former operation may be difficult because we think the metal is very hard at that point; it may be found easier to file the necessary small radius on the corners of the square on the jacks. This we have tried and it is a quick and easy operation, and has no detrimental result when the standard handle is used.

In the event of adopting this handle, steps would naturally be taken to indicate the procedure of use.

We should like to hear from you after, say, a fortnight as to the general opinion of this type of handle as compared with the present one, and after that we would like the handle to remain at Lillie Hall and be in use as a garage handle for some considerable time, in order that it may, by so doing, get a useful test to determine whether it will stand up to constant use without failure.
