Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}..from PN.{Mr Northey}

With regard to the car which I am relying upon having available to run for a few hundred miles when I go North for about a week, I was telling Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} that in view of certain considerations I had to postpone my leaving until the 8th inst.

He then suggested that it might be very useful all round if I took on the second left-hand U.S.A. car during that period and put it through a few hundred miles.

This I am prepared to do, but the point which I want to emphasise is that it is important for me to know quite definitely that I can count on a car of some sort being available for me to take when I come to Derby on Tuesday next, the 8th inst., because if you do not find it possible to arrange this for me I must take immediate steps in other directions.

Will you please let me have a line by return.

PN.{Mr Northey}
