In accordance with Mr. Day's instructions, I send you herewith drawing No. N.sch:366 Exhaust Pipe Nozzle.

It will be seen by figure 1 that the above is made in two halves and welded together round the edges and reinforced by stiffener pieces at the end and tubes in the centre, all of which are welded together. Rectangular slots for the stiffener pieces will then be passed through and the tube bent over and welded. This fig. also shews the nozzle butt welded to the exhaust pipe.

Fig 2 shews a similar construction of nozzle but which however, is passed over the end of the pipe and spot welded. The slots for the stiffener pieces in this case are open, stiffener pieces themselves can be bent to shape before put into position.

Fig 3 shews a scheme of nozzle made in aluminium and bolted to the exhaust pipe by means of a flange, of which two shapes are shewn namely - round and square.

Fig 4 shews the nozzle damped to the exhaust pipe by means of two 2BA bolts.

Will you please put in hand the necessary instructions for making experimental sets. More particular the one made of steel pressings.

The above scheme is now awaiting Mr. Royce's criticisms.
