To BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X.2735 RECEIVED. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 3/LG6.11.20. RE WHITTLE FAN BELTS. We have tested the length of special Whittle Belt. This belt is of the standard Whittle type except that the pitch of the links is slightly less than what we are using at present - it is not as small as the half-link belt. We consider this belt is an improvement over the standard Whittle belt. We cannot say that it is quite as good as the half-link belt. The point we notice on this belt is that it does not fit the pulleys very well. The top of the links seem narrow so that the belt only fits at the bottom of the links. We recommend that you point this out to the Whittle belt people and ask them the reason for this. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
