We hand you herewith an S.S. exhaust valve which is one of a set taken from an engine after approx: 14,000 miles running. The valve seat is very badly pitted. Would you give us a complete analysis of the valve material, brinnel etc., also we should welcome any information regarding the cause of the 'pitting', is it corrosion or is it some other action?
