Hotel de France Chateauroux. 3/5/30. To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} We have reported knocking developed in the O.S. front shock damper. We have taken the shock damper to pieces and we have located the knock. This is due to wear having taken place at the spherical end of the connecting rod where attached to piston. We cannot do anything with this as there is no means of adjustment. We have taken the opportunity whilst the dampers were off to increase the H.P. load to 107 lbs. We believe this load will prevent the excessive bouncing we have had on the front. We hope to have the car running again by Sunday the 4th inst. G.W.H. | ||
