Hotel de France Chateauroux. 3/5/30. To: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} We have had the bottom half of the Crankcase off; for examination and we are amazed at the condition of the cams of the camshaft. They are torn up awful, we have never seen any in a worse condition, it is questionable whether they will last the 10,000 miles out. We see by the specification sheet that the camshaft is made of 2% Nickel Case Hardening Steel. It does not state whether the tappets are made of different steel or not. SERVO. We have examined the new process of fastening the servo fabrics and find that at 5,000 miles it is quite a success. G.W.H. | ||
