Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} What was G.W.H's suggestion Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} PHANTOM III. TRIAL'S CAR. I will let Mr. Crawford know that they can change over to Castrol XL. for their cars while they are kept in the garage at night. Paris have had no difficulty in starting up with XL with the increased clearance to the plungers. With regard to oil going down the valve stems, there has been no reply from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} or By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} with regard to my suggestion and sketch deleting the cup in the top washer. This may have been overlooked with the concentration in trying to get the two wedges without any slot. I have never held any guarantee that the fitting of felt pads decreased the oil consumption. The fitting of felt pads was necessary with the increased oil supply to the rockers. Sparking Plugs. These are necessary to satisfy a certain number of Phantom III. grumblers.
