We are sending you correspondence we have had from Messrs. Negretti & Zambra regarding the large mercury filled distance thermometer with the white face which they have repaired and which we wish to purchase. In consideration of the fact that we already have two distance thermometers, but we do not think we require the small sample one after all. If, however, Messrs. Negretti & Zambra feel inclined to let us have the latter instrument for the same price as the ether filled, Cambridge, we think it would be worth retaining it. We do not suppose they would do this, however. We should be glad if you would obtain the large distance thermometer for us as soon as possible.
