c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} 561 XX 2424 30th. December 1937. BY.2/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Messrs. Peto & Radford, 50 Grosvenor Gardens, London. S.W.1. Dear Sirs, 25/30 HP. CHASSIS. GRP-81. Owner: Hon. Mr. Berry. The above car came down to your Works on Novr. 11th. with a battery which our London people claimed was at fault. You changed the battery over to enable the car to be delivered, and promised to examine the battery taken from the car and report upon your findings. Apparently, on November 13th. you wrote to Cricklewood (your reference being ESC/F.{Mr Friese}) pointing out that you found nothing wrong with the battery in question when it was examined. Might I enquire whether you found the battery was in a run down condition, probably as a result of the ignition switch being left on ? I regret having to raise this matter again, but I am interested in knowing what was really the cause of the battery not functioning. If our people were at fault, I propose to draw the matter to their attention. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. By CHIEF ENGINEER - CHASSIS. | ||
