Dear Sirs, The purpose of this letter is to confirm our telephone conversation of this morning with regard to the last pair of converted "R" type Headlamps which we sent to you by passenger train to-day. We have increased the strength of the reflector return spring from 20 ozs. to 24 ozs. and with the existing Dipper unit this has raised the operating voltage to approximately 12 volts. As explained to you on the telephone it is very doubtful whether the unit will operate satisfactorily on the car as the Dipper is not to be used in France this will not matter and if we hear that the fluttering has been eliminated it will then only be necessary for us to wind a coil which will bring the operating voltage down to approximately 10 volts which would give a reasonable safety factor. Yours faithfully, JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED R.H. Klein Handwritten notes: 26 6 VI w France | ||
