1020 Experimental Department 28th January 1937. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}8/AP. Messrs Vanderwell Products Ltd., Western Ave., Park Royal, LONDON W.3. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter and layout drawing of the bearings recently supplied by you. As there is some difficulty in obtaining a crank-case in its early stages for undersize boring to suit the bearings, due to the demands of production, we propose to fit shell rings in RR.56. material as adaptors to go between a finished crankcase of which we have available and the bearings. We shall of course work absolutely to the specification limits shown on your arrangement drawing, but if there is any advice you would like to forward with regard to carrying out the job in this manner, we should be pleased to know as soon as possible, as the job is being started during the course of the next day or so. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
