UNIVERSAL GEARBOX.

Herewith is FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}23 shewing a modification to the 2nd speed Buick type coupling as now being tried on a Phantom lll box to N.Sch.5151.

All the teeth have been relieved except 6, and the coupling still works out on the drive.

It is suggested that before any more teeth are relieved, the modifications shewn by this drawing should be made as there is only one piece in existence at the moment, and we would rather not go below six teeth. Also there does not appear to be much advantage in reducing the number to less than six.

If this scheme appears to be a success we shall then no doubt want to know whether it is also a success with all the teeth in action. Another piece will have to be made to determine this.
