UNIVERSAL GEAR BOX.

The adoption of the fully isolated gear change lever on this box, which is foreshadowed in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/R.11.9.37. will necessitate the gear change shaft being moved backward .175, to accommodate a larger universal. ?

We think this should be done on the gear box pattern now being made, and accordingly should be glad if you would modify the details and the pattern.

P.D.17 herewith giving the required information.
