X. 8100 S E C R E T. R2/M15.4.25. To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} C. RE. DYNAMO DRIVE. I cannot understand the above requiring such a stiff spring to control the carrier shaft; it would not be satisfactory. Make it a reasonable spring, and as I suggested, or better still let the fabric coupling control the shaft endwise. Such things must be kept simple and practical in spite of grouses from Derby and Sales. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
