ORIGINAL To R.R. of America Inc. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} (For the attention of OY.) Copy to CJ. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3701 X4160 RE FREEZING UP OF FILTER IN THE BACK TANK. 3 R4/G7/9/21. With reference to your remarks concerning the freezing up of the filter in the back tank, I must admit that we know very little of the severe winter conditions that you get abroad, English winters being particularly gentle. At the same time I should not have expected that you would have been bothered with much water in petrol; very rarely we get water in petrol. The small filter on the float chamber was looked upon as an addition to the R.{Sir Henry Royce} outgoing one in the rear tank, so should not get blocked or frozen and need not be large.
