X. 4383 To EY. from EFC. c. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} EFC4/T25.1.24. X.4383 - 20 HP. DYNAMO FROM CHASSIS GA.39. NEAL. Regarding this dynamo (No.582), having investigated this machine we consider that the failure has been due to imperfect bedding of the control brush in the first instance, necessitating an unusually retarded position of same. The subsequent bedding in of the control brush has apparently so increased the output as to cause the dynamo to overheat. This may have been accentuated by poor bedding of the negative brush, as suggested by EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} More than this, with reference to the main point, we cannot say. We notice the control brush has not been moved by the customer. There are on this machine minor irregularities such as incorrect brush alignment, etc. which should be covered by our specific-ation of inspection and test. We now return the machine to EY. EFC. | ||
