S/W Es. XP832 C6/C2.7.30. The Earl of Cottenham writes as follows:- "It is very good of you to tell me the make of the additional shock absorbers that you fitted to the late Sir Henry Segrave's car. If it is possible for you to find out whether they were obtained direct from Paris, you would be adding to your kindness and I should be very grateful. I am afraid I am ignorant of the type of shock absorbers which you fit as standard to your Phantom II models. But if you were able to tell me in what way the "Afa" shock absorbers that Sir Henry obtained, reinforced the action of those that were standard fittings on his car, I should be very much obliged to you. The problem of road holding in cars of the larger class is yet some way from being solved, and I am most interested in it." Will you please let me know what you suggest I say in reply. He advised me in his previous letter that he is in charge of the Experimental Department at Lancias, but he wants this for his own private information. C. | ||
