C. From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X 832 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.3.7.30. SHOCK ABSORBERS - LATE SIR HENRY SEGRAVE'S CAR. Replying to your memo C6/C2.7.30. The 'Arfa' shock absorbers which we fitted to the above car are simply a friction type and are very similar to the Hartford. The late Sir Henry had a preference for 'Arfa' but under the conditions in which we use them, 'Hartfords' would have done the job equally as well. The reason for fitting the extra shock absorber to the above car was to provide easy means of supplying extra friction when the car was used at high speeds. Standard hydraulic shock absorbers will look after the car for all normal conditions of running. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
