and no trouble was experienced after the car had been washed. The brakes were used with reasonable discretion during the trip to avoid undue wear, but the hand brake control finished up very close to the end of its travel and needs readjustment.

The car is definitely bad for road noises as we already know on very rough or cobbled surfaces, but as this only arises in a long trip for about 3% of the time it is not greatly noticed.

My final impressions of the Oldsmobile lead me to the conclusion that the comfort and accommodation of the passengers has been well catered for. The body interior and luggage accommodation is definitely more spacious than we are accustomed to on English coachwork. The car as a whole performed very well indeed and if developed for European conditions to eliminate the faults which show up on this side would produce an attractive vehicle.
