( 2 ) Oil leaks from bijur connections round front axle checked. All shackles checked, O.K. Brake rods and pins inspected, O.K. Steering column box replenished with oil. Battery checked and topped up, O.K. Connections made good and tight. Battery box securing studs locked. Tappet cover securing nuts nipped tight with pliers. New rubber connection to radiator top pipe. New gland rings to induction manifold hot spot pipes. Water drain tap drilled and locked with wire. Carburettor floatchamber securing screws locked with wire. Chromium grill fitted to cold air intake at front. Engine run light and tappet clearances set. Cylinder head tightened down and tappets re-set hot. Car prepared for final test on track. Car driven easy for first few laps. Best lap speed (night) 175 KPH. LM.8 needles 109 MPH. Mixture control central. Car returned to Rue Gide Depot for cleaning and polishing and preparation for one hour run.
