J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Howlett, Esq.,
Wellworthy Piston Rings Ltd.,
LYMINGTON, Hants.

Dear Howlett,

I have checked up on your publicity matter, and have corrected one or two minor errors in the script.

Actually, I do think it is unwise to stress the embeddability attributes of the aluminium tin bearing too much, because in this respect I do not think it is any better than lead bronze.

As you know, we are at present reviving interest in aluminium tin bearings on the aero engine, but since we are still standardised on lead bronze, the remarks at the bottom of page 6 may seem to be rather contradictory.

With regard to your other letter re your visit to the Works to see bearings cast, our Foundry Manager points out that Mr. Watkinson has actually seen a quantity of A.C.9 bearings cast, but in spite of this he is willing to arrange a special cast to suit your Staff. If, there-fore, you will let me know when it is convenient to visit the Works, I will confirm that they show you what you want to see.

Yours sincerely,
