24. Petrol Tank.

The present type petrol Tank will be used for "V" Series and "W" Series. West is trying to give us a design for an emergency chamber under the filler which will become available by lifting a spring controlled valve to allow the petrol in the emergency tank to escape into the main tank.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} informs me that it has been agreed to arrange for the Timing Gear oil pump to supply the whole of the low pressure system, Camshaft Casings, etc. and have a special relief valve, so that the amount of oil which will be supplied to the Timing Gears will be enormously reduced. At present the quantity of oil supplied is excessive and causes difficulty.
