Aluminium Cylinder Block with Dry Liner for High Power Head.

We send you herewith a print of LeC.5328 showing an aluminium cylinder block with dry liner for use with the high power head on the above unit.

It will be necessary to modify the head slightly as shown to clear the exhaust valve which has had to be moved out to accommodate the dry liner.

Provision has been made for directing the coolant on to the critical spot on the block between the exhaust port and the cylinder bore. It will be necessary to arrange an external pipe from the main coolant supply for this purpose.

We also send you three detail prints of the cylinder block RS.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}332. Prints of the remaining details will follow.

We should be pleased if you would put this in hand as soon as possible as we are anxious to find out whether we shall be able to use this form of cylinder construction with the high power head.

E/PSN.

Att: LeC.5328 (Print).
RS.{Sir Henry Royce's Secretary}332. (3 prints).
