This column is for Name of Person addressed. DATE. X74 Mr. Wormald. 6-3-13. About the time the last lot of experimental new type valve-springs were delivered I think some one in the Experimental Dept. suggested a method of testing springs by bouncing them on, say a cast iron bedplate. By the note produced, I believe we were able to judge which were good springs and which were cracked ones. I think it would be advisable to revive this matter, and if it is practicable, have all our valve springs tested in this way.
