The following is a brief summary of the discussion held this morning:-

Ph.III. (1) Swindall should ensure that Stromberg carburettors and pipes to the latest specification are available for all Ph.III engines. In particular, we want a set for 34-MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}, Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}'s car, as soon as possible.

(2) Steadman should see that the flywheel and clutch out of 33-EX are checked on the dynamic balancer when this car comes into the shop. Steadman should also find out the amount of out of balance likely to be caused by the maximum amount of shaft deflection permitted by the Inspectors.

(3) Hyman and Ll.Smith should repeat the test on Green Bank with the Long clutch in the green SpectreCodename for Phantom III when it returns from Sales.

(4) Ll.Smith should examine the pressure plate out of 33-EX when this car comes into the shop, and report as to whether the clutch deterioration is due to this pressure plate distorting. A long clutch plate should also be fitted to No.10 unit before it goes in to 33-HX.

(5) Ll.Smith should find out how soon the stiffened clutch back plate will be available.

(6) Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} will check the shanking on 32-SX when it comes out of the shop.

(7) Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} will send a note through to S. pointing out that the thrust washers are inadequate on our rear axles, and that the Buick and Packard have better provision for avoiding wear on these washers; i.e., provide a greater area.

(8) Hyman will get values for the rubber shackles on and off on 32-SX. when it comes into the shop it will have 7" springs fitted.
