YOUR REF Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/MA. X 3409 19th April, 1933. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 13th instant, from which we gather that, as you are not now carrying out any tests on friction materials, the tests referred to in your letter BY/Mtn21/N of January 23rd, 1931, are now completed. We should therefore be pleased to receive your final report on these tests. As we know your policy is to make every endeavour to continually improve even the outstanding performance of your cars, we would with all due deference again suggest that it would be in your own interests to investigate the performance and 'life' qualities of 'DURON' brake linings. Should you require outside evidence in order to support our claim, we would refer you to Captain Smith-Clarke, Director and Chief Engineer of The Alvis Car and Engineering Co., Mr. Roesch, Chief Engineer of Messrs. Clement Talbot Ltd., who would, we feel sure, give you their opinion of the outstanding performance of 'DURON' brake linings. Thanking you, Yours faithfully, for BRAKE LININGS LIMITED. (A.Bailey).
