R. {Sir Henry Royce} c. CJ. c. BJ. c. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X.4273. BY2/P27.11.22. GOSHAWK II. IGNITION COIL. X.4273. X4079 Instructions have been issued that no cars shall be despatched with the original type of ignition coil which recently failed. For the present all cars are being changed over to Stabalite cases, in fact, we are acting on the standard-isation sheet recently sent round and signed, to use the standard 40/50 in its stabalite case complete. We do not therefore anticipate any further trouble from the ignition coil itself, as all the troubles we have so far encountered in Goshawk II, were in direct connection with the material of the case, since altering this we have not been able to produce the faults in question, even under extreme conditions.
