(9) INDIVIDUAL CELLS.

Each cell will be a complete unit in itself so that there is absolutely no possibility of internal cell to cell leakage.

(10) DISPOSITION OF CELLS IN THE BATTERY.

This will be such that the terminals of the battery will be at the extreme ends, so that in no case a greater difference of potential than 4 volts exists between a portion of one cell and a portion of its neighbour.
(See sketch plan).

(11) TERMINALS AND CONNECTIONS.

The cell to cell connections of the battery shall be carried out by means of heavily lead covered brass nuts and kinked links which are arranged to allow the desirable small amount of longitudinal and lateral flexibility, it being understood that such connections are not broken after once having been made, unless it becomes necessary to replace a cell of the battery. Lock nuts shall be provided.

The terminals of the battery shall consist of similarly heavily lead covered brass nuts making flat surface connections to special terminals, made by R.R., attached to the cable ends - also lock nuts shall be provided.
