SECRET. E.A.C.

With reference to the memo I recently issued, reference BY14/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 9.3.25, defining a "V" Series chassis, and explaining that no further modifications could be tolerated by C.J. unlesswor, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} agreed such modifications were essential to the satisfactory running of the car. Since that date a Conference has been held with C.J. where the question of what "V" Series would have to be, and when it was likely to be ready, was finally thrashed out.

The attached memo on the above subject shows the decisions which were arrived at at the Conference in question.

Any modifications extra to these cannot be incorporated unless the special process for authorising such alterations, outlined above, is carried out. The material, except where a modify number is positively specified in BY/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 18.3.25. referred to, should be instructed up immediately the drawings are ready, both experimentally and for 300 sets of parts. The D.O. should issue pieces which require forging or are made from pressings, first. The Operation Dept. must give these special attention, as a promise has been made to FHB that all the above parts approximately one month from the present date. This gives us obviously no time to lose, and every effort must be made to get the forging drawings and pressing drawings of all the parts into the hands of the Order Office by the end of this week.

BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}
